1. What this policy covers
This policy covers the Questly desktop app (“the App”) and this website, including the live demo (“the Site”). Both are made by the Questly project, the people who maintain https://github.com/svyixiu/questly (“we”). Questly isn't affiliated with Discord Inc.; Discord's own privacy policy covers what Discord does with your data.
2. The App
2.1 What stays on your PC
Everything the App saves is stored locally and never sent to us or anyone else:

2.2 What the App reads on your PC
- Discord's log file. To know when Discord has detected a game, the App follows Discord's own
renderer_js.logand looks for exactly two kinds of lines: that Discord's list of running games changed, and which game Discord shows. It doesn't copy, store or send the file. It never reads Discord's Local Storage, cookies, saved sign-in or token. - Whether Discord is installed and running, from the list of running programs and Discord's install folder, for Legitimate Buddy's Discord check and the “open/close Discord” options.
- CPU and memory load for Performance Guard, and the time since your last keyboard or mouse input for Legitimate Buddy. These are only used in the moment and never stored.
2.3 What the App connects to
- The game list: a copy of Discord's public list of detectable games, published by the original
project on GitHub Pages (
markterence.github.io), with Discord's public endpointdiscord.com/api/applications/detectableas a fallback. No login or token is sent. - Game icons from Discord's image server,
cdn.discordapp.com. - Your own Discord app, through Discord's local connection on your PC, only if you use the RPC test on the Activity page.
Like any web request, these reveal your IP address and basic technical information to the service that answers (GitHub, Discord). The App has no analytics, telemetry, crash reporting, ads or update checks.
3. The Site
- Hosting. The Site is hosted by Vercel. To deliver and protect it, Vercel processes technical data such as your IP address, browser, the pages you request and when. See Vercel's privacy policy. We don't add analytics, cookies, trackers or ads.
- The live demo runs entirely in your browser. Its pretend library and settings are saved in your browser's local storage for this site, and never sent anywhere. The demo's Reset button, or clearing this site's data in your browser, removes them.
- Your accent color on the Site is saved in local storage too.
- Game icons in the demo and on the Site load from Discord's image server.
- Downloads and source code are served by GitHub; see GitHub's privacy statement.
4. Children
Questly isn't meant for children under 13, or under the minimum age to use Discord where you live.
5. Your choices
We don't collect personal data, so there's nothing for us to show, correct or delete. To remove everything the App stored, uninstall it and choose to remove your library and settings, or delete the folders listed above. For data handled by Vercel, GitHub or Discord, contact them directly.
6. Changes
If this policy changes, we'll update this page and the date at the top. Important changes will also be mentioned in the release notes.
